Have your say on policing in Hazlemere

HAZLEMERE residents will be able to have their say on policing in their area at a meeting next week.

The crime prevention event will take place at the town's library in Amersham Road on Friday 30 between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

Representatives from the Hazlemere neighbourhood policing team - including Neighbourhood Officer PC Sue Jacobs - and the Wycombe District Neighbourhood Watch Association will be there to hear residents' views.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend this meeting, could some pass my comments on...?

I think there should be more police speed traps, the village only has one Gatso style camera, and the occasional van parked on the road towards Beaconsfield.

I think there should be 24 hour police speed traps, especially for peak travel times, when sometimes speeds can exceed 5mph.

How about a police helicopter too, can they be fitted with speed detecting devices?

And maybe someone could invent an attachment for Police dogs that allows a speed detecting device be fitted to their heads?

I couldn't agree more with the cash cow sentiment in your post.

But there is a seriousness to the subject, i.e. the monkeys who use Brimmers Hill as some sort of drag strip, mainly in the small hours when most normal folk are sleeping.

Last week some cretin with a phat zorst went up and down the road 2 or three times obviously testing some recently installed Barry accessory. Each time reving the engine quite hard between gear changes, I counted em and he was in 4th gear (reckon on way over the posted speed limit then) before he did a u'ey (probably at cryershill lane) and then caned it all the way back again. All this took place at 11:30pm ish and woke my kids up. To the cretin motorist responsible, cheers pal it is your sort behaviour that backs up the police / scamership pratnership policy of continual milking of the cash cow motorist. The easy target that is.

How about the Police get off of their backsides and deal with ALL crime!! These cries of "we don't have the resources so you will have to select the crime you want us to deal with" wear very thin.

I think the idiot that Mr Dragon was talking about also speeds around Park Parade, normally wheelspinning out of The Link onto Western Dene and belting up the run at a ridiculous speed. I bet he thinks he's really good. Everyone along Lower Lodge Lane doesn't. If a patrol car was able to sit in the car park opposite the co-op they would have a field day catching these mindless idiots. If it carries on, someone will end up getting badly hurt
