A DECISION on whether Tesco can transport bulk fill material by rail to its controversial Gerrards Cross site will be made tomorrow.
A Buckinghamshire County Council development control committee will decide whether the supermarket giant can prevent an estimated 1,000 lorry movements bringing the material to the site in Packhorse Road.
However the recommendation advises the committee to defer the application until the next meeting in January as Network Rail has not yet given detailed "form B" approval to the plans.
The decision was delayed from a meeting of the committee on September 11 when members agreed the extra time would allow Tesco to gain the necessary go-ahead from Network Rail.
Tesco corporate affairs manager Michael Kissman said: "We have made good progress and are on track with the plan. We understand if members wish to wait a few weeks to make a final decision."
Thousands of tonnes of dirt and concrete crashed onto the track when the tunnel below the site collapsed on June 30 2005, narrowly missing two passenger trains.
