AN inventive student has proved he is High Wycombe's own Iron Man after inventing an iron glove'.
Alex Vine, 21, has just finished his Product Design degree at Buckinghamshire New University, and has been showing off his ironing glove product at the degree show. He was inspired by his dislike for the everyday chore.
He said: "To begin with it was because I didn't do much ironing as a student and a lot of people I know don't do it either. I hate ironing."
But his invention has made the task more bearable, and has been met with a good response.
Alex, who is from Milton Keynes but currently lives in Hughenden Road, High Wycombe, said: "Where I was showing it at the degree show it got a lot of quality feedback."
The glove is made from flame retardant material, and the plate itself is heated by the ironing board, which is plugged in to the mains. He hopes to develop the design more in the future.
