ONE of Hollywood's biggest stars has flown into town to take a break from his hectic schedule and spend some time at home.

Snoopy the fruit bat has starred alongside fellow A-listers Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson and his meteoric rise to fame now sees the furry creature as the world's number one bat actor.

He is currently in between roles and has returned to High Wycombe, where he lives with his trainer Trevor Smith.

Abandoned by his mother when only a baby, he was hand reared by Trevor. His breed is the largest in the world and at 20-years-old, he has grown into a handsome creature with a wingspan of five and a half feet.

Snoopy, who has adopted the stage name Kevin, gets his own dressing room on set and has been known to clash with co-stars. When appearing in the first Batman film he made quite an impression on a fellow actor. Trevor said: "The bat turned up and pooed all over Michael Keaton and he was really annoyed at being upstaged by a bat."

The star has also appeared in Interview With a Vampire and made various appearances on TV. Trevor said: "Once an animal's been on the TV he becomes a star in his own right and when they become popular everyone wants them."

Snoopy rubs shoulders with the stars and gets regular invites to A-list parties, recently entertaining Ozzy Osbourne and Jonathan Ross.

He has even received the ultimate celebrity honour, his own waxwork. Rowntree Fruit Pastilles made an exact replica of him to be used in their Kevin the fruit bat adverts after they were inspired by his lovable character.

Trevor said: "People fall in love with him. He even does phobia sessions to help people get over their fear of bats."

Along with the money and fame does come the usual Hollywood pressures to look good. Trevor said: "He loves croissants and will flip out of his head to get one and I have to watch his weight."

He is currently touring the country attending parties and entertaining children while he waits for his next film role.
