AN ESTABLISHED drug dealer has been jailed after trying to escape police whilst carrying a bag of heroin.

Muhammed Hamza, 22, of Belgrave Road, Aylesbury, was sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to forfeit his mobile phone and cash at Amersham Crown Court on Tuesday, April 23.

In the same hearing, Hamza pleaded guilty to one count each of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A, namely heroin, possession of a controlled drug of class A, namely crack cocaine, and acquire/use/possess criminal property.

On October 24, 2023, plain clothed officers were on patrol in Aylesbury and saw Muhammed Hamza, who is a convicted Class-A drug dealer, having been released from prison in June earlier that year.

Officers approached Hamza who ran away and threw a package containing numerous wraps of heroin, along with a black keypad phone into the air and over a hedge line toward a residential property on Argyle Avenue.

Hamza continued to try and run from officers but was detained. He was found in possession of a further mobile phone and £530 in cash.

Mobile phone analysis showed Hamza had sent numerous messages advertising the sale of drugs.

He was charged the following day.

Investigating officer PC James Gordon, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “On 24 October 2024 Muhammed Hamza attempted to run away from officers and discard Class-A drugs and his drug line phone; however, he was outpaced and was quickly apprehended.

“Hamza was an established drug dealer in Aylesbury and I am pleased the courts have handed him a fitting sentence for the crimes he has committed.

“I hope this serves yet another clear warning to those who wish to deal drugs in Aylesbury, we will continue to work relentlessly to ensure drug dealers are dealt with appropriately and put before the courts.
